Privacy policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

The short version: Bad Clanker collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers.

What we collect

Nothing. Bad Clanker has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers. We never see your prompts, your AI's responses, your identity, or your activity.

What is stored, and where

The extension stores two things locally in your own browser, using the standard chrome.storage.local API:

  1. Hand position: where you dragged the floating hand, so it stays put.
  2. A setup flag: whether you have completed the one-time setup.

Both values live only on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the extension removes them.

Clipboard

During the one-time setup, and only when you click the consent button, the extension copies a single short instruction to your clipboard so you can paste it into your AI provider's custom-instructions settings. It writes to the clipboard at no other time and never reads your clipboard.

What the extension sends

When you slap, the extension types a short message into the chat box of the AI site you are already using and submits it, exactly as if you had typed it yourself. That message goes to that AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) under their own privacy policy, not to us. Bad Clanker makes no network requests of its own.

Third parties

The extension operates on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, and claude.ai. Your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. Bad Clanker is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
